Margaret Fell lived in the 1600's, was a founder Quaker and eventually married George Fox. She spent many years of her life in and out of Lancaster Castle's gaol and much of her time there was devoted to writing letters to other Quaker groups, to Charles II, to Parliament and many others. Much of her writing is available to us today. It is full of love, peace, calm, conviction and, perhaps best of all, clarity.
