From County Durham he did hail,
Well, he made a steam engine
For the Stockton to Darlington rail.
Then went on to build foundries ,
To forge iron and make steel
For his brand new high pressure boilers
They would spin the world’s wheels.

He found the steam to make engines run.
The Manchester Ship Canal well knows that name,

A little Queen Mary some folk did say,
